Rosita y Los Nefastos, angry and rebellious punk rock made in Colombia.

From the drums, Rosita displays the necessary strength to support Los Nefastos who, although there are only two of them, are enough to give life to a strong and compact trio that emits punk in each hit.

Rosita y Los Nefastos is a punk rock power trio that was born in 2012 when three young people from Medellín who were part of a studio band got together to play songs that made them feel good. With time and rehearsals, the project became professional and to date they are integrated by Andrés Serna (bass and vocals), Rosita García (drums and backing vocals) and Alejandro Cuadros (guitar and backing vocals).

The intention of their musical proposal is to connect with the public through their songs with forceful and contentious languages. Their message, from an unequal, angry and nonconformist point of view, is to always question the why of things and never swallow whole.

Nadie está dispuesto’, the Colombian band’s fifth album, is their most recent release, a work that condenses the essence and organic sound of Rosita y Los Nefastos. The lyrics of the EP are full of questions, reflections and introspections of what human beings are not willing to do and fulfill in this complex and chaotic world.

“Life in a city as fast-paced as Medellín keeps us agitated, overwhelmed, on edge and always on the verge of exploding. We don’t know who we can trust because everyone is trying to protect their own interests. That’s why our walks and the way we live the city inspired the song, fitting perfectly to this strange moment we are living.”

says the banda.

The album was recorded at 406 RS with Sebastián de los Ríos and had the production support of Luis Jaramillo of the band Polvo de Indio.

The paisa band’s new production includes a single titled ‘Paranoia en la Ciudad’, a journey on foot to the rhythm of the city’s heartbeat. The bass and drums are the base of the song over which the guitar and vocals are given the freedom to play their part.

“For the recording of the video we were inspired by a technique we saw in an exhibition where opposing ideas are shown through the overexposure of images and the use of filters. The production company Revolver Santos Films found how to take this concept to the video world and they postulated Paranoia en la ciudad as the ideal song to materialize this great video”, they add.

Among Rosita y Los Nefastos’ plans for this year is to release the song ‘Gusano’, a cover of the band KDH and a tribute to Faber López, vocalist of KDH who died in 2020. For this song the band will have two special guests: Alejandro Duque on drums and Luis Castro (ex KDH) on one of the guitars. As an additional spice, Rosita will be the voice in this tribute.

The band also plans to release a documentary about their experience working on a trilogy of videos with the production company Revolver Santos Films, with whom they made the videos ‘Esclavosapiens’, ‘Olvidados’ and ‘Paranoia en la Ciudad’.

For the second semester Rosita y Los Nefastos will start the pre-production of a new musical work and will attend the call to be part of the Altavoz 2021 International Festival.

It is important that people have the opportunity to get to know and discover Rosita y Los Nefastos to get to know fresh and forceful projects that open the mind and oxygenate the punk rock scene in Colombia and Latin America.
