Become the new music idol in Latin America and around the world with Djooky Music Awards

The streaming for composers has already opened a new registration stage for its new edition.

● Registration is open to participants from around the world until February 20.

● Platform CEO Brian Malouf wants to attract more Latin American composers.

Bogota, February 2021- In order to promote and develop musical talent worldwide and as an alternative to democratize the music industry, the songwriting platform Djooky, reports that registration is now open for the winter edition of the Djooky Music Awards (DMA), the first global online song contest, and this time, CEO Brian Malouf puts his attention on Latin America, to grow entries in the region.

Launched in April last year, Djooky is a digital platform aimed at boosting musical development worldwide and bringing artists closer to diverse audiences, as well as opening up new spaces in an industry made up mostly of major record labels.

The company is backed and co-founded by Brian Malouf, an American multi-platinum producer who has worked with major artists such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Queen, Pearl Jam, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, the Jonas Brothers and Stevie Wonder, to name a few.

“The music industry has also been affected by the business paralysis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. We understand that artists around the world have cancelled their participation in festivals, concerts and music competitions, however, the crisis is also an opportunity to be entrepreneurs and implement significant changes in the industry, so Djooky is a new opportunity for them and gives them the chance to promote their talent,”

explained Brian Malouf, Co-Founder and judge of the DMAs.

The platform receives registrations from artists from all over the world.

The Djooky Awards is open for entries from composers, amateur and professional, of any musical genre. To date, artists from all six continents have registered, including participants from (country) as (artists).

In order to obtain WED recognition, songwriters may register only one song before February 20, 2021, when three stages of the competition will begin, including national, continental and global voting rounds.

Unlike other music awards, any user of the platform can listen to the song of the nominees worldwide and participate in the creation of the weekly lists of winners by awarding them voting points, while the overall results will be determined as follows: 50% by Djooky users and the other 50% will be defined by a panel of judges recognized in the music industry globally.

The panel of judges is composed of prestigious producers, musicians and composers, willing to offer the winning artists the opportunity to have their songs recognized in the professional arena, in addition to achieving worldwide exposure.

The jury includes two-time Ivor Novello Award winner and Grammy nominee Sacha Skarbek, best known for writing James Blunt’s hit singles “You’re Beautiful” and “Goodbye My Lover,” as well as Miley Cyrus’ hit “Wrecking Ball”. Award-winning musician and songwriter, and four-time Grammy nominee, Patrice Rushen, who composed and recorded the hit song “Forget Me Nots”; and Justin Gray, who has collaborated with a variety of artists including Avril Lavigne, Mariah Carey, David Bisbal, Luis Fonsi and Amy Winehouse among others. The Djooky representative will also announce a Latin American judge shortly.

The awards

Artists can win a trip to Capitol Studios (LA, USA), the opportunity to record a song with top-notch production equipment, coaching sessions with the world’s top music experts and cash prizes.

The dates of the stages in which the winter DMAs will be held are:

● The national voting round: Sunday, February 21, 2021.

● Continental voting round: Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

● Worldwide voting round: Saturday, February 27, 2021.
